Very inaccurate themostat
Bought this to use as a roaster for the Thanksgiving day turkey. Like any good engineer would, I tested the thermostat accuracy first. I was very unhappy to find that the oven temperature varied by as much as 40F (on the high side) from the temperature the knob was set at. I expected some error, but 40F is just too much, most modern home ovens are accurate to within 5-10 degrees. I have writen Oster and am waiting for their reply. I will use the oven for the turkey, but will have to set it for 290F to get a temperature of 325F to cook the bird. When/if Oster replys I will update this review.

I didn't get mine from Amazon, but it's this one in black. I LOVE this thing. Put my turkey in it yesterday and turned it to 350 and in about 5 hours my 19 pound turkey was done and beautiful!
And clean up was a snap, really easy.
I have no idea why I have fought with my oven and basting and horrible clean up for years when I could have been using one of these!
I'm not 100% sure that when I put it on 350 that it was at exactly 350, but it did cook my turkey in exactly the time it was supposed to do so.
I love this thing and can't wait to use it for something besides turkey. I think I'll use it to cook tamales next!

I received this as a Christmas gift two years ago. I absolutely love it! Last year I cooked a 14.5 lb. unstuffed turkey at 375 and it was done perfectly in 2 1/2 hours. Today I cooked a 15.25 unstuffed turkey at the same temp and it was done perfectly in 2 3/4 hours! Nicely browned too! I can't say enough about it! Saves your oven space for the rest of your goodies so eveything for your Thanksgiving dinner is ready at the same time. Would we great for roasts, chicken, etc. too.
