Not sure what you're gaining here...
The standard factory filter is supposed to be replaced after 6 months. I assumed that a 'washable' filter would extend that time, but instead, this filter also recommends replacement after 6 months.. so what are you gaining? The ability (or perhaps the added work of NEEDING) to clean it during that time. And for the record, their recommended cleaning method is tapping out the dust, which can be done with the factory issued filter as well.
I'm gonna stubbornly use this filter as I had assumed in the first place... 'wash' it after 6 months, and then use it another 6 months. I'll update my review if something breaks or the world ends.

this filter is an exact replacement, works great and my wife is happy now, so that makes me happier too.
This is an update on my first review.
We ordered 1 filter the first time to just make sure it was the right one and that it would work.
This time we ordered 4 and got free shipping.
Yes they are washable, DO NOT fall apart.
The reason we ordered more is simply because we know that eventually it will wear out just like your socks.
