With this cord, you can easily comply with the new electrical code
With this 4-prong cord, you can easily equip your dryer or stove to bring it into compliance with the most recent national electrical code. Unlike the 3-prong plugs for small electrical appliances (whose three prongs are for the "hot" wire, the neutral wire, and the ground wire, respectively), the 3-prong plugs for stoves and dryers have prongs for two "hot" wires, and a single prong for both neutral and ground connections. The new 4-prong plugs provide a prong for each of the two "hot" wires, and separate prongs for ground and neutral connections. This decreases the likelihood of accidents.

Then you should see that the three wires from the electrical cord are attached to three terminals within the appliance. You will need to detach all of these wires and remove the 3-prong cord. Perfect replacement cord!
This 4 prong, 6 foot cord was purchased to replace a 3 prong, 3 foot cord which we bought when our dryer was new. We recently moved to a new house and needed a 4 prong plug. This particular cord is very heavy duty and sturdy, and I would definitely buy this one again! It's perfect!
Even I can do it!
I have always wanted to be 'handy' but it's never quite worked out that way. So, when we moved into a house that had a different plug than our dryer, we panicked. Do we have to buy a new dryer now?!?! Doing some research I found we just needed a cord. I decided I would try and replace this myself (in the back of my head picturing my electrocution from messing up). Well, a month later, the dryer still works, the house hasn't burned down, and I'm still alive. So, it really was easy to change, worth the money and if I can do it, so can YOU!
