Fingers leave streaky smears!
The "fingers" on this pad leave streaky smears on my wood and tile floors. You can actually see a line or dot for almost all of the "fingers". Steer clear of these purple pads and use the white ones because they leave everything looking smooth and clean. I am not sure what the purple pads are good for because they don't work well on floors. Amazon has a great return policy so I will be sending these back.

I had a veeeeeery dirty stone tile floor. I am embarrassed to admit that I neglected it for several months even while our dogs came in and out, we walked on it all the time, dropped things on it, etc... we would just wipe up obvious spills and leave it at that. Now that my son is about to start crawling, I thought we'd better get in gear and get the floor properly clean. I ordered this mop based on the infomercial and the amazon reviews. Today I used it for the first time, and while there is still some staining of the grout, the floor is squeaky clean after just 2 passes with this mop. It's very lightweight, easy to push, and even though it doesn't leave the floor totally dry right away, one end of the kitchen was definitely dry by the time I had reached the other end. So it pretty much works as advertised, surprisingly enough :-) It's easy to assemble-- I didn't even look at the directions because it was so intuitive. Please do read the directions on the operation, though--...
Purple pads better than white pads
These purple pads are definitely better than the white ones that came with the Shark Steam cleaner. The white ones left horrible streaks that made the floor look bad. These purple pads leave no streaks and the floor shines like I want it to. The price through Amazon is much better than what is charged in the stores. I am very happy with this purchase.
