cute little blender.
i've been wanting to get back to being healthy and everyone knows the benefits of eating healthy esp. fruits and veggies. well, i make PURE FRUIT smoothies with this blender and dont use it for my baby, but for me. lol. unlike other single serving blenders out there, the top cover of this has no moving parts (unlike the travel single serving blenders out there) and is simple lid to allow easy washing. that sold me. i also like the sweet sunshine yellow of this blender and it doesnt take up space. the plastic containter is BPA free and yes, when you wash it, you wash the attached blade. the plastic is quite good quality, i must say unlike another 6-cup blender i bought in the past. it is easy to wash. the blender easily makes for more than one serving (i'd say a generous one serving, and an adequate double serving) of smoothie.
Cons:
You must chop your veggies/fruits before dumping in this blender b/c blades arent too powerful enough to liquify them quickly...
I expected better...
I bought this item at Babies R Us. I have a Hamilton Beach blender that I have used for years, so I purchased this small blender for making baby food rather than purchasing the more expensive personal size blenders marketed specifically for baby food (i.e. Baby Bullet, Brezza, etc.) While it works ok for small batches (less than half the volume of the cup), if you fill the cup more than half way, the top portion never gets blended. You have to stop every few pulses to stir the contents to make it blend uniformly. And for some foods it whips it so fast it creates an air pocket around the blades to the point that its blending nothing at all and you have to shake the food down, bang it on the counter, or stir the contents to proceed. And it does smell and smoke if you hold down the button rather than always pulse. To puree baby food, I'm sorry, but it takes more than a few pulses to get the needed consistency. If I use only pulse, I'll be there all day. Not something I have time...
Personal Blender
This is too cute and small enough to cary in my lunch box so I can make fresh smoothies at work. Love it =)
